Recently, the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) and Human Resources magazine, HR.com, released their second annual background screeners survey. There are some great industry tidbits in here but for me its the amount of companies currently doing background checks on their employees, an astounding 95%. I remember a survey in the late 90’s that had that number around 30%. Every single conversation screeners had at that time was on the virtues of screening and why employers need to do it. Today, we don’t have those conversations, everyone screens!
Thomas Ahearn from Employment Screening Resources wrote an insightful summary of the study, so instead of creating my own, I’ll send you to his.
I hope you enjoy.
